Melodies and Narratives: Integrating Storybooks into the Primary Music Classroom
This interactive session invites educators to explore innovative ways of incorporating storybooks to enrich music lessons, promote early literacy skills, and foster oral language development.Participants will discover how storybooks can serve as catalysts for engaging musical experiences. Through hands-on activities and collaborative discussions, attendees will learn practical strategies for seamlessly weaving books into music curriculum, enhancing learning outcomes, and igniting students' imaginations. Participants are encouraged to bring along a selection of their favorite storybooks to inspire and guide their brainstorming process as they create their own lesson ideas. From rhythmic storytelling to character-inspired compositions, attendees will explore a myriad of possibilities for integrating literacy-rich activities into their music classrooms.
